Awards season 2024/25

Here are some recent projects that have been making their mark on the awards season. We are immensely proud to have worked on these films.

Bring Them Down

Two families war with each other amid the harsh landscape of rural west Ireland in Christopher Andrews’ gripping thriller Bring Them Down. Andrews picked up the Douglas Hickox Award (Best Debut Director) sponsored by BBC Film at the 2024 BIFAs. Jacob Swan Hyam was also nominated for the Breakthrough Producer sponsored by Pinewood and Shepperton Studios.

Santosh

Sandhya Suri’s debut crime thriller has made a significant impact. The film follows Santosh, a young widow who, due to a government job inheritance scheme, unexpectedly finds herself enrolled in the Indian police force. As a new constable, she confronts the numerous challenges of local bureaucracy.

The Dirty Looks team delivered the film in time for its premiere in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

At the 2024 British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs), Suri was awarded Best Screenplay, and producers Balthazar de Ganay and James Bowsher received the Breakthrough Producer award. (The film is also produced by Mike Goodridge and Alan McAlex.)

The film has been BAFTA-longlisted for the Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer award and will represent the UK in the Best International Feature Film category at the 2025 Academy Awards.

The Teacher

Directed by Farah Nabulsi, The Teacher follows a Palestinian schoolteacher struggling to reconcile his risky commitment to political resistance with the chance of a new relationship with volunteer-worker Lisa and his emotional support for one of his students Adam.

The film has been BAFTA-longlisted for the Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer award.
