Dirty Looks recently began supporting In-Deep, a local community taskforce dedicated to fostering friendship, understanding, and combating social isolation in Westminster.
The borough of Westminster has the second highest poverty rate of all London boroughs, and in the last two years it had general incomes at 60% less than the average in the UK, once housing costs and rent are considered. The levels of rough sleepers and pay inequality in the borough are sadly worse than the average in London.
Dirty Looks is proud to support In-Deep Community Task Force, a grassroots charity working with isolated older people and children with Special Education Needs in Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Lambeth and surrounding areas. In-Deep offers support and provides activities such as community lunch clubs, dance classes, music therapy and workshops, fostering connections within the local area.
The Community Lunch club runs every Wednesday between 11:30-2:30 at Grosvenor Hall, Vincent St, SW1P 4HB (Pimlico Tube) and relies on volunteers to support Colin (Charity Founder) who prepares all the lunches and Emma (who makes everything happen). The Lunch Club is a warm, friendly space for older adults to enjoy a comforting meal, surrounded by both new and familiar faces in the neighbourhood.
It’s a rewarding way to spend your lunchtime, and we encourage all post houses, clients, suppliers, and freelancers to consider getting involved. Thank you to Sophia at Climate Essentials for joining the Lunch Club team last week! More information about the charity can be found here. >>
