Sustainability success: Dirty Looks’ carbon footprint reduction
In a remarkable achievement, Dirty Looks has successfully maintained a relatively constant carbon footprint between 2019 and 2022, despite significant growth in its employee count and turnover. This feat is a testament to the company’s commitment to sustainability and its dedication to reducing the environmental impact of its operations. Since 2020, Dirty Looks has been able to reduce 11% of its total emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3.

We are working in partnership with Deep Green, the sustainable data centre company, on a project which repurposes the heat generated by our post-production computing and contributes it to community swimming pools, for free!
Collaboration is at our core. According to a recent report, 73% of business leaders support collaborating on climate goals, showing industry partnerships can accelerate progress.
We are members of Green The Bid, a collaborative network of companies who share knowledge and best practice and serve as a force to drive change in the industry.
We use the online carbon management system, Climate Essentials to help us understand our carbon footprint and manage our emissions. We are happy to announce that we have recently completed our carbon footprint measurement for the year 2022
This measurement currently reflects our operational footprint only. We’re actively working to include the carbon impact of data processing and storage in future reports to provide a more comprehensive view of our environmental impact.
99% of our emissions fall into Scope 3 which are emissions we are indirectly responsible for. We are working with our landlord, employees, clients and suppliers to inspire and encourage action to reduce these emissions.
Measuring our baseline and implementing a reduction plan is the first step on our journey to net zero.
We have taken the SME Climate Hub commitment to take immediate action to halve our greenhouse gas emissions before 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2040. We will disclose our progress towards this on a yearly basis.
Reducing emissions from our operations and services is our top priority. We’re thrilled to be part of a movement building a more sustainable world, and we eagerly embrace the innovations of the emerging green economy.
However, as we learn, innovate, and navigate industry transitions, some emissions will remain unavoidable in the short term. That’s why carbon offsetting will act as a crucial complement to our ongoing reduction efforts. We’ll soon share more details on how we fund carbon removal to address both current and historical emissions.
