Palio is a dramatic story of a young outsider, in search of glory, challenging his former mentor, a cunning insider champion. The action takes place in the ancient walled city of Siena and is centred on the Palio di Siena – a dramatic civic battle that has been waged twice annually for over 700 years. The film is a microcosm of Italian life with passionate and engaging characters, great beauty and widespread corruption!
